Blogging
I’ve tried blogging multiple times through the years.
Honestly, I’m just not that interesting. I have a Facebook account, but I don’t post on that often. I have a Twitter account, but I still don’t really get Twitter — unless you’re famous, and I’m just not.
I get started on blogging and I go for a bit and then life rushes in like a gigantic wave and I forget. Day after day goes by and soon I realize that I haven’t blogged in 732 days 5 hours 2 minutes and 3 seconds.
Crap!
So how in the world do I keep up with blogging this time?
I have no earthly idea….
So I decided that I would just write up a bunch of blog posts to be ahead of the game. Write up about 20 or so at one time and just continue to do that and I’ll always have something to post every week or so. Get 52 and I have a year’s worth. Don’t think I can do 365 — again, I’m just not that interesting (plus I have a job).
So this post is number 4 of those write-aheads written way back in March 2014. And yet today is now December 4 and there’s not much interesting to say about today.
However, in 3 days, I would have officially been at my current job that I’ve been at for 10 years now. That’s a LONG time. Interestingly, it was year 2 of this job that we did a major conversion of our systems and it was pretty intense few months. I always remember when that occurred because it was the same year that Caleb was born.
In 3 days is also when I got my first car back in 1993. I had that car throughout college and then in 1999, on December 6, the timing chain went haywire and totaled the engine. On December 7, 1999, I bought my FIRST car (it was my second Saturn). I tried to keep that car until December 7 2013 but decided that I no longer trusted it. So I traded up for Hyundai since GM no longer makes Saturns.
I’ve been quite pleased with Hyundai. Kelly got a Sonata Hybrid that she absolutely loves. A year later, I bought myself a Sonata Turbo since I always wanted a car with more horsepower. I almost went with the Genesis Coupe which was a very fun car to drive. But the kids barely fit in the back seat so I didn’t go that route since it wasn’t a “family car.” But I did make Kelly promise that I would one day get a car like that!! 🙂 The Sonata Turbo has been nice. But wouldn’t you know it – just a few weeks ago, the kids decided to spill a little milk on the carpet and it soured and it still stinks! I’ve been too lazy to actually clean the carpet. Yes, I know I know….I’ll get to it.
For you historian buffs, you already know that December 7 is the day that will live in infamy when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
Larry Bird was also born on December 7. Lots other people but don’t know most of them.
So December 7 is one of those days that I always remember.
I’m curious if anything will happen this December 7, 2014.
(BTW – I’m not 100% sure what blogging and December 7 have to do with anything now that I’ve finished up this post — but oh well)
